"Private" is an easy word to print on a landing page. This is what it actually means for CleanSight, in the order things happen.
You grant Photos access
Full library access is needed because the job is library-wide: duplicates can't be found one photo at a time. Limited selection works too, with the app staying fully functional.
Your phone does the work
Every photo and video is analysed right on the iPhone — near-duplicates, blur, dark shots, categories and the text in screenshots. Nothing is sent anywhere. Photos stored in iCloud are checked from their on-phone preview and never downloaded during a scan.
Results stay on your phone
What CleanSight learns about your library is kept on the device, so the next scan only looks at what changed and finishes in seconds. There is no CleanSight account and no server that has ever seen a photo.
You decide
Every group is reviewed. Deletions go through Apple's own Photos confirmation, land in Recently Deleted for 30 days, and CleanSight tells you so — with the real number, not a fantasy one.
What does leave the phone
Anonymous usage statistics, crash reports and your purchase receipt — never a photo, a thumbnail or anything read from one. That's the complete list, and it's the same list in the privacy policy.
